The Reykjavík Art Festival started last Thursday, May 10th, and will continue through May 26th. The opening act was a three day performance by the French street theatre Royal De Luxe, where a giant and a child giantess walked the streets of Reykjavík. During those three days destroyed cars could be seen all around the city centre, where the giant had passed by in his rage. The little giantess then followed to try and calm her father down.

This act was a co-opperative project with the festival "Pourquoi-pas? French Spring in Iceland" and the Reykjavík Art Festival. Other events of the festival include an art show by the American artist Spencer Tunick, performances by the San Fransisco Ballet and a concert of the Balkan "Wedding and Funeral Band", led by Goran Bregovic.
