The adventerous whale watchers at Elding decided to start their tours early this year because the whales started popping their heads up of the ocean more frequently and in more numbers than previous years. Although the weather was teasing the whatcers and sailors a little at the beginng of April (being the month of four seasons in Iceland). The last week however has been the perfect condition to spot a whale. even from miles away. "Summer has obviously started" a smily pedestrian says as he walks with the sun in his face down Laugarvegur shopping street.
Whale watching is one of the most popular leisure activity during the tourist season. With sunlight almost all day we recommend their evening tours since the sea is quite different at evening than daytime, and a lot more romantic. The whale watchers report an outlook for an unusually good summer and it looks like there will be enough whales to see and observe for everyone so no one should leave Iceland without seeing one.
