The Grill Market, the newest addition to restaurants.is and visitorsguide.is, opened this summer with a huge opening party where over 300 people attended. The restaurant, which is partly owned by the same people who own The Fish Market, is located at Lækjargata 2a. Icelandic nature is the inspiration for the decor where the interaction between lava, moss, fish skin and basalt columns will be prominent.
The chefs, Hrefna and Gulli, serve seasonal ingredients straight from the farmers that is prepared in an exciting way where fire, smoke, wood and coals help to trigger deep, rich and earthy flavours in the food. The food is cooked in a custom-made barbecue which can withstand a lot of heat. The high temperature of the coals, which can reach 2100 degrees Celsius, makes the food crisp on the outside but juicy on the inside. restaurants.is and visitorsguide.is welcome the Grill Market into the ever growing group of Icelandic restaurants.
