A fishery museum close to the harbour and includes an old cost guard ship.With a great view over the ocean next to Reykjavík‘s harbour and only 10 minutes walk from the city center is Víkin – Maritime museum. Inside you can learn about the development of Icelandic fisheries throughout the ages and see how the harbour in Reykjavík has evolved over the past century. With an average of five different showrooms the gallery consists of almost 700 square meters indoors. Outside, docked to a special pier is the cruiser Óðinn, one the most famous ships in Icelandic history that was previously used by the coast guard. The cruiser is open to museum guests under guidance.
